Avoiding pollution

Because of its privileged position inside the International Dark Sky Reserve, the inn respects carefully all of the AstroLab recommendations in order to avoid light pollution. The observation of the stars is a spectacular nocturne activity.

The protection of the environment is important to the Victorines du Lac. This is why the inn does everything it can to reduce its ecological footprint.

A few examples:

• Recuperation of paper, cans, cardboard and plastic. Boxes for this purpose are placed in each bedroom;
• Use of local food products and articles made in Quebec in priority;
• Water heating with a bio energy process;
• First floor radiant heating;
• Individual heating and air conditioning system in every bedroom;
• Recuperation of used oils.

Aware of the impact every decision might have on the quality of the environment (water, air, sound pollution), the Victorines du Lac owners want to improve their way to do thing. They chose carefully every new necessary equipment in order to lower the consumed energy or to reduce the environment impacts.
